Narrating Stories through Art.
Procreate Art & Graphics
Three years ago, the world was reeling from the pandemic, and I was wrestling with my own sense of purpose. I left the comfort of my corporate job and journeyed to Auroville, seeking a more meaningful life. Drawn by a desire to contribute, I found myself working with a sustainable hand-knitting company, empowering rural women. This new path was daunting, but it opened my heart to the incredible women of the surrounding villages.
Despite the language barrier and the challenges of remote living, we connected on a deeper level. "Akkas," as I called them, became my family. Sitting on the floor together, we shared stories, laughter, meals, and celebrated every festival. The absence of modern conveniences faded into insignificance as I discovered a profound peace in their company. The long, difficult roads to their secluded villages and the unpredictable weather couldn't dampen my spirit; instead, they enriched my soul.
These women, with their unwavering love, warmth, and hospitality, left an indelible mark on my heart. Though I no longer live in Auroville, our bond remains strong, and I visit them whenever I return. Their profound impact has ignited a desire within me to give back to their community. I dream of returning to Auroville, contributing to their lives as they have so profoundly contributed to mine.
